A simple script that selects a db and collection. 



$m = new MongoClient();

   echo "Connection to database successfully<br>";

   // select a database

   $db = $m->test;

   echo "Database test selected<br>";

//select a Collection

   $collection = $db->selectCollection("member");

   echo "Collection member selected succsessfully<br>";
